The New York Times has put out a call to Russians to film and submit videos about real life--and real-life challenges--in this big bear of a country that, 25 years post perestroika, is still far from democratic. Here are the first four videos, each about two minutes long, and worth the short investment of time if you want to get a crash course on life in the Russian Federation today. I photographed this grafitti on a wall near the Hermitage.
